Miles of singletrack, waterfalls, creek crossings, long rolling hills on paved and unpaved roads. Yummy restaurants. Local businesses. The vibrancy of a college town with strong athletic programs and a long-standing and engaged Finger Lakes Runners Club. These were elements that drew founder and owner Ian Golden back to Ithaca to open the Finger Lakes Running Company in 2006. For over 15 years the Finger Lakes Running Company has sold some of the most technical, comfy, and, well, fun running gear available. More than that, though, the shop brought knowledge of running mechanics, injury awareness, community resources, referrals, and support into the mix.

We value everyone who walks in our door, from seasoned post-collegiate runners going after a marathon PR to those who don't really think of themselves as runners and are looking for a cozy shoe to grab some miles now and then. We love helping you find what you need. You might be in the market for second-shaving performance on offer from the latest in shoe technology. You might need equipment or professional referrals for injury remediation. You might want a shoe to make an 8-hour shift working on concrete floors a little more bearable. We do it all.
